By hosting only one event at a time, we offer an experience that is entirely yours. Our 6,000-square-foot venue is designed for weddings, corporate retreats, and celebrations of life, comfortably accommodating 50 to 200 guests with gracious hospitality.
Built in 1937 by theatrical visionaries Sherwood Keith and Joseph Celi, Boothbay Playhouse served as a premier summer theater for over 80 years, welcoming regional and national talent. Featured in National Geographic in 1968, this cultural landmark was discovered by John and Sara Berkeley in 2020 while searching for their own wedding venue.
The restoration honored the original architecture while adding modern conveniences. Today, the Playhouse continues to bring people together as a wedding and event venue where new stories unfold on the same stage that hosted Maine's theatrical heritage.
